This module focuses on the role of staff (and leadership) in student engagement. We’ll explain the different roles they can play, the influence of hierarchy, etc.
Intended Learning Outcomes of module 4:
- Experiment with different ways to encourage student engagement, and share the result with your colleagues.
- Defend student engagement at the policy level.
- Understanding how staff be the game-changer for student engagement.
- Communicate to different staff groups why SE matters and how it affects them in their work.
- Outline the policy documents and structure affecting SE in the institution.
- Understand the cross-sections of staff to students, the hierarchies involved and reflect on this in relation to SE.
- Design a classroom environment that enhances student’ voice.
- Experiment with different ways to encourage student engagement, and share the result with your colleagues.
